Fifteen review measures say very little on their own. A TMS is lived as one operating system. So the report groups the measures into the five questions a buyer has to answer anyway, and ranks every system against each one.
01
Can you rely on the provider?
Whether they will still be a capable partner in year three, and still a safe choice in year five.
02
Can your teams adopt it?
How much friction sits between signing and steady state, and who administers the system a year in.
03
Does it fit the work you do?
Whether steps stay connected when a booking changes, a deadline moves, or the cargo is complex.
04
Does the right person get told?
Whether an update says what changed, who it affects, and what somebody now has to do next.
05
Does it hold up day to day?
Whether it slows at peak, whether the ETAs still hold, and whether its users would choose it again.

Each question carries its own ranking. The order changes from one question to the next, and the gaps are not where a feature list would put them.
G2 was chosen because it is a broad, common source of peer review data across software categories, written by verified users of each system rather than supplied by the vendors. Nothing in the report is a product claim or a testimonial.
Its scale is the other reason. With Capterra, Software Advice and GetApp behind it, G2 is expected to bring together around six million verified reviews and to reach more than 200 million software buyers a year, which is a wider base than any single vendor's own references.
Every score is G2's.
Fifteen published review measures, taken as G2 reports them. Nothing is estimated, weighted, or supplemented from another source.
The nine systems compared in the report are:
Neurored TMS & SCM
ActiveTransportation
CargoWise
Descartes Shipper TMS
E2open Logistics Application Suite
Magaya Supply Chain
Oracle Transportation Management
Revenova TMS
SAP Transportation Management
They score between 81.0% and 92.4% overall, as published on G2 in August 2026, and the top three sit within six points of each other. Which system holds which position, on each of the five questions, is in the report.

What to ask each vendor
Specific questions per theme, written for a shortlist call rather than for a demo.

A printable RFI scorecard
Eighteen questions across six areas, scored out of ninety, with a decision box at the end.

Two worked examples
An ocean booking that changes after it is placed, and invoice matching against transport orders and air waybills.
Nothing, and there is no paywall. One form, and it is in your inbox.
No sales call is required to read the report. We may get in touch about your evaluation, and if the timing is wrong, say so and we will leave it there.

It is a broad, common source of peer review data across software categories. Every score comes from a verified user review of that system. Everything here is as published in August 2026.
Yes. The eighteen questions are written to be put to any provider.
No. Review data shows where customers consistently report strong experiences. It cannot show whether a system fits your modes, your integrations, or your exception volume. You find that out by putting your own work in front of it.
The report ends with a printable RFI scorecard. Six areas, eighteen questions, each scored one to five, out of ninety.
Somebody on your team was going to have to write those questions. These are already written, and they are the ones that decide it rather than the ones that are easy to ask.
It is filled in once per provider, by whoever sat in the demo, so three vendors end up on one page.
The sixth area is evidence validation. How many reviews or references support what you were shown. Which capabilities have no third party evidence behind them. What still needs a proof of concept.
